Fungabella Pass

International Women’s Day!
Springwood Bushwalking Club had scheduled several women-only walks this week and I was a helper for this one: Warrimoo to Blaxland via Florabella Pass and Pippa’s Pass.

There were some 16 or so of us, all different ages and walking abilities! The weather was uncertain: rain was forecasted for the day. We set out in the back streets of the “Moo” and were soon at the head of the track. The bush was wet and the rainforest glistening! Florabella Creek does not usually have a lot of water but today it was happily flowing! 

Of beautiful flora, not much! However the fungi were everywhere! Blue, red, brown, white, yellow: a symphony of colours among the green backdrop of vegetation. 

We beat the rain and stopped at a bakery for lunch and coffee: a great way to finish the day! Then a hop in the brand new Blue Mountains train to Warrimoo back to the cars!
