Hairdresser Ridge

Hairdresser Ridge

There is no Hairdresser Ridge in the Blue Mountains. This is what Bill called it when he learnt that the last time I walked there, we turned around 800 m from the end because one of the party had a hairdresser appointment!

So today was the day to complete the walk. As far as ridges are concerned, this one did not have many views: we spent our time walking in a forest of eucalyptus. Even the two hills we had to climb, did not offer much…
We arrived to the point where we had turned around. We were soon starting to go down: slowly at first and then steeply! By the time we arrived at the end of the ridge, we had dropped 200 m (that we would have to climb back!). We finally had some views on two creeks joining together and tall cliffs.

The return in the heat was tough and I was tired by the time we emerged on the fire trail. I am glad I did Hairdresser Ridge but I will not rush to do it again!
