Operate In Remote Environments Assessment 17 May 2025 Today was the assessment for 20 Remote Area Firefighters (RAF) hopefuls. I was assessing three candidates who were well prepared. They swiftly navigated to the chosen waypoints in the Cuumbeun Nature Reserve, built their shelter and completed all the required tasks.As the sun set, we continued navigating in the dark until we reached our car. 2023 Navigation Assessment

NAVIGATION COURSE ASSESSMENT 22 July 2023 Saturday was assessment day! The teams headed to Bullaburra for a few hours of bush navigation. I tagged along with a few groups but had to head back to the top to deal with the never-ending paperwork!

HYDRAULICS ASSESSMENT 13 May 2023 We had a few people from the hydraulics course who needed to complete their assessment.One of the participants needed to draft from the Cat 1. We built a makeshift buoy wall using a tarp and ladder. It all worked out fine and the participants passed!
