Geocaching In Katoomba

My lower back was unhappy so I went for a walk to the Katoomba Falls area on a misty day – translation: heavy fog. That would also be the occasion to prepare a GPS navigation exercise for the RFS.

A surprise awaited me: the tracks on the Reid Plateau had just been closed and would remain so for the next five months for “upgrade works to the Night-lit Walk”. The Council must have money to burn!

So I walked around looking for possible waypoints and found two vertical 2 or 3 m high steel pipes: I have no idea what they are (I am open to suggestions). I visited the Katoomba Cascades that were overrun with tourists and continued to one the lookouts that is still open.
Then it was on to the Prince Henry Cliff track looking for some of the geocaches in the area. Although the fog was thick, it was a pleasant experience. One of the geocaches took me to the Road Builders Memorial which I had never seen before. Maybe there should be one made for the Mellow Bath road works! 

 I returned to the Katoomba Cascades parking and drove along Cliff Drive looking for more geocaches. I had quite some fun and will have to return for more!
