An Old Track

The promise of visiting an old man-made now-silted pool intrigued me! There are so many things to discover in the Blue Mountains.

We started at the Lawson Lookout, one of the most boring lookouts in the mountains and made our way down the Magdala Gully track. We let the main track and soon joined an old track that took us to a creek that had been dammed. The walls of the small pool were made of sandstone blocks had been assembled professionally! The pool is now silted and there is barely any water into the creek. It must have been a lovely place in its heyday!
We followed another creek that had a waterfall, a trickle and made our way back to the main track.
