SHEEP DIP CANYON

SHEEP DIP CANYON

Sheep Dip, also known as Death Trap, is a small canyon in the headwaters of Rocky Creek.

It was a hot day and spending several hours in the water seemed like a good idea. The original fire trail was overgrown after the fires but this did not prevent Kent to drive those lazy canyoners closer to the start of the track!

Sheep Dip is a fun little canyon/creek with lots of slides, pools and jumps and one abseil along a slippery waterfall! This is followed by a more enclosed canyon with a rock pile under which the Rocky Creek disappears (Death Trap?). After changing under the overhang and passing by a waterfall which was flowing well, we made our way back up to the cars.

I did not take many photographs as it was extremely wet and I had visions of my phone disappearing in the water…
